Connect & Go Live

Stage 2 — after your prerequisites

This assumes you've finished Stage 1: you're an approved marketplace seller with verified tax/banking. Not there yet? Go back to Before You Begin.

Now connect Automatum and launch. This page orchestrates the Automatum-side steps and links to the detailed guides for each.

Step 1 — Create your Automatum account

Sign up at app.automatum.io and set up your organization. → Full guide: Account Setup

Step 2 — Connect your cloud account

Link the marketplace you sell on so Automatum can read your listings and transact:

Deploy the Automatum IAM role (AWS)

For AWS, Automatum needs a cross-account IAM role to read your listings and process transactions on your behalf. You deploy it from a CloudFormation template (AWS's automated one-click deployment file) downloaded from the Automatum dashboard (Settings → Integrations → AWS Marketplace). The template embeds your unique External ID, so the role can only be assumed by Automatum for your account. Launch the template in your AWS account, let the stack finish, then return to Automatum to confirm the connection. → Full guide: AWS Marketplace Setup

Step 3 — Create or sync your listings

Once connected, you can create new listings directly in Automatum, or sync existing marketplace products into Automatum. (Syncing is one-way — it imports from the marketplace into Automatum.) → Full guide: Listings Management

What to prepare for your listing

Have these assets ready before you create a listing — the marketplace requires most of them for approval:

  • [ ] Company logo (marketplace-compliant dimensions)
  • [ ] Short description and long description
  • [ ] Product categories
  • [ ] Screenshots and/or an architecture diagram
  • [ ] Pricing and, for usage-based products, your dimensions
  • [ ] EULA (End-User License Agreement) — the AWS standard contract (SCMP) or your own custom agreement
  • [ ] Support contact plus links to your documentation and privacy policy

What buyers see

Buyers discover your listing on the AWS or Azure Marketplace, review your description and pricing, and then either subscribe to a public offer or accept a private offer you've sent them. The marketplace provisions their access, and Automatum receives the entitlement (the buyer's proof of purchase) and tracks the resulting subscription — so new customers and their usage show up in Automatum automatically.

Step 4 — Create your first offer or report usage

  • Private offer — custom pricing for a specific buyer. → Private Offers
  • Usage metering — report consumption for usage-based products. → Metering Guide

Grow with co-sell

Once you're a registered marketplace seller, you can request AWS ACE (co-sell) access and enable Microsoft co-sell through Partner Center. Automatum syncs your ACE opportunities so you can manage co-sell alongside your listings and offers. → Full guide: Co-Sell Overview

You're live 🎉

  • [ ] Listing assets prepared (logo, descriptions, categories, screenshots, pricing, EULA, support/links)
  • [ ] Listings created or synced and visible in Automatum
